How do i know if the backlight on my laptop is a LED or CCFL?
I’m going to replace the broken lcd screen on my acer aspire 5732z, how can i tell if i need a LED or CCFL? i’ve opened the screen case and looked behind the screen but i still can’t tell.
LED backlights do not require an inverter, as they are low voltage DC powered lights. Cold Cathode Tubes require high voltage AC current, and thus need an inverter.
So, just by physical examination, if you remove the bezel around the screen, and there isn’t an inverter mounted to the bottom of the LCD panel (a long, narrow printed circuit board) then your screen uses LED.
Since you have already opened the casing, and examined it.. is there an inverter? If not, you have an LED backlit screen.
