As I type this, I am also getting ready to download the public beta version of Google Chrome as it will officially be released tomorrow September 2, 2008, just less than an hour from now.

Google Chrome beta for Windows platform will be launched in 100 countries on the above mentioned date, with Mac and Linux versions to come later on.

Google Chrome is a lightweight and fast open source web browser that is meant to cope with the next generation of web applications that rely heavily on graphics and multimedia according to Google's blog.

I personally need to note these: lightweight, fast, open source web browser and cope with
the next generation of web applications that rely heavily on graphics
and multimedia. wooo! wooo! That's a great combination to be provided to users at no cost.

Google says Chrome will more support its rich web applications such as Documents, Picasa and Maps that are not only challenging traditional desktop programs but are beginning to take over from offline software, straight from the horse's mouth "What we really needed was not just a browser, but also a modern
platform for web pages and applications, and that's what we set out to
build," Mr Pichai, VP Product Management.

But Google has not mentioned advertising which is its main function where it earns the highest percentages.

By launching Google Chrome coupled with its function aims, Google is also launching the most blatant assault on Microsoft's dominance especially Internet Explorer that dominates with 80% of the market as well as Mozilla's Firefox.

Do not forget to download Google Chrome by typing "download+Google Chrome browser" in the Google search engine as Google has not yet indicated a download URL.

Stay tuned to You Techno for updates as this event unfolds and soon my review of Google Chrome, Google's new Web Browser.

The cartoon about Google Chrome is very informative.
We'll see what kind of browser it is in the upcoming days.
